Event Description:
The Spearin Doctrine is Under Attack: Learn More About How This Could Affect Your Firm’s Liability and What is Being Done to Stop It.

If you are concerned about legal cases that could well affect your firm, then please join us on March 31st at 3:00 p.m. to hear about a case very recently accepted by the Washington State Supreme Court, Lake Hills Investments v. AP Rushforth.  Jennifer Beyerlein of Lane Powell will be on hand to provide an overview of the case and to explain the amicus curiae process by which ACEC Washington can advocate on behalf of the membership.

The case involves what is known as the Spearin Doctrine and what happens with regards to liability when a contractor deviates from plans and specifications.  In short, contractors would like to change long-standing legal precedent and to the detriment of the consulting engineering profession.  ACEC Washington is gearing up to help stop it, but you can learn all about it.

The Board of Directors takes very seriously its role of protecting and defending the consulting engineering profession and we look forward to having you join our discussion
